Out Now: The Doors, WAITING FOR THE SUN
We alerted you that it was forthcoming. We even teased you about its impending arrival last week by offering up an opportunity to check out the “rough mix” of “Spanish Caravan.” But now it’s finally here.
We’re talking, of course, about The Doors’ WAITING FOR THE SUN: 50TH ANNIVERSARY DELUXE EDITION, which is in stores now.
This 2-CD, 1-LP collection offers fans a new version of the original stereo mix of the album on CD as well as on 180-gram vinyl, and as you might reasonably presume, the album has indeed been remastered by Bruce Botnick, The Doors’ longtime engineer-mixer, from the original master tapes. In addition, fans will also be graced with 14 completely unreleased tracks: nine “rough mixes” from the original recording sessions which were only recently discovered, and five live performance from a 1968 performance by the band in Copenhagen.
We’ve hyped this set enough that you should already be well familiar with its contents by now, but we’ll still closing by offering them up again, if only because we’d just like to reiterate one last time that IT’S OUT NOW!
