Nickelback vinyls

When reeling off high-profile, top-selling rock bands of the ‘00s, it’s hard to get too far into any such list without mentioning Nickelback, but that’s the sort of thing that happens when you start racking up platinum-selling albums one after another. Tomorrow Rhino releases three of those very albums, and in case you don’t remember the highlights from the LPs in question, we’re here to dole out a little reminder about each of them.

SILVER SIDE UP (2001): Although it was Nickelback’s third album, this was definitely the one that first put them on the map in a big way, thanks predominantly to the album’s first single, “How You Remind Me.” The album’s two subsequent singles, “Too Bad” and “Never Again,” didn’t result in the same degree of chart success, but once you’ve had a #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, that’s all people talk about, anyway.

THE LONG ROAD (2003): The band managed to maintain their momentum with the single “Someday,” a top-10 hit in the States and a #1 hit in their native Canada, where – strange but true – “How You Remind Me” wasn’t a hit. Additional minor hits included “Figured You Out” and “Feelin’ Way Too Damn Good.”

ALL THE RIGHT REASONS (2005): Nickelback captured radio listeners’ attention again with “Photograph,” which climbed all the way to #2 on the Hot 100, and this time they even managed to score a second top-10 hit from an album, thanks to “Far Away,” and then even pulled a third one with “Rockstar,” along with two additional top-20 hits, “Savin’ Me” and “If Everyone Cared.” You may not be surprised to learn that this was also the band’s first #1 album in the US.
