Foghat
Foghat began when frontman “Lonesome” Dave Peverett, bassist Tony Stevens and drummer Roger Earl split from British blues rockers Savoy Brown and recruited Black Cat Bones axeman Rod Price. Beginning with an eponymous 1972 album, the band spent more than a decade on Bearsville Records, scoring major success both with studio albums and a hit live set – all of which can be heard on the new THE COMPLETE BEARSVILLE ALBUM COLLECTION. These 13 remastered discs feature some of the tastiest boogie rock of the 1970s, including “I Just Want To Make Love To You,” “Stone Blue,” “Third Time Lucky (First Time I Was a Fool)” and the immortal guitar heroics of “Slow Ride.” Perhaps the U.K.'s answer to ZZ Top, Foghat served up music that was deceptively simple but reliably entertaining, and THE COMPLETE BEARSVILLE ALBUM COLLECTION captures them at their peak.
