David Bowie SOMETHING IN THE AIR LIVE Cover

In a world where social distancing has led to the closing of movie theaters and the unexpected revival of drive-in theaters, we’ve found the perfect tune to serve as a sampler of SOMETHING IN THE AIR (LIVE PARIS 99), the new, previously-unreleased David Bowie live album that’s heading your way in the very near future.

Recorded on October 14 at the Elysée Montmarte, SOMETHING IN THE AIR (LIVE PARIS 99) is a 15-track live album, featuring 12 previously unreleased recordings, along with an additional three live tracks which were utilized as B-sides for Bowie’s HOURS... album. It was one of only seven full shows done by Bowie to promote the aforementioned album, and it was a very important day, as he was awarded the Commandeurs of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, the highest artistic honour that France can bestow, earlier that afternoon.

SOMETHING IN THE AIR (LIVE PARIS 99) will be available for your streaming enjoyment on August 14, but if you’d like to hear a little sampler by spinning the tune we hinted at earlier, we can oblige.

Oh, and we suppose you’d like to know the full track listing of the album, too, so we’d probably better offer that up before we close things out:
